Paul Park's international of Celestis isn't as darkish and brooding as that of Paradise in his Sugar Rain books, however the tale is much more anxious. people have subjugated the planet's local aboriginals in these ways in which people frequently do. at the floor, all is calm and civilized: aboriginals look proud of the life-style swap, the cultural possibilities now on hand, and a victory over one other local race that had enslaved them for hundreds of years. however the calm is just a veneer that hides the decay and anger underneath, a temporary peace.
